U2C LEVEL SYSTEM

U2C nine-level scale and the official exams behind it

U2C numbers content from 1 to 9 so courses, word lists and exams can be filtered across languages. Official levels stay authoritative: CEFR for English, French, Spanish, Portuguese and Arabic, JLPT for Japanese, TOPIK for Korean. Levels 7–9 are internal subdivisions, not titles any exam board has created.

Official frameworks, not one shared label

English is described with Cambridge, IELTS, TOEFL and a CEFR mapping. French follows DELF/DALF, Spanish follows DELE, Portuguese follows CELPE-Bras, Japanese follows JLPT, Korean follows TOPIK. Arabic is presented as the U2C Arabic graded assessment referenced to CEFR, not an official certificate.

Exam formats differ by language

HSK 3.0 tests listening, speaking, reading, writing and translation. JLPT has no speaking or writing section. TOPIK II adds writing, and TOPIK Speaking is a separate test. DELF/DALF and DELE test four skills. CELPE-Bras is task-based. We do not reuse one five-skill template across all of them.

Why HSK is not used outside Chinese

HSK only tests Chinese. Calling an English course “HSK 3.0” would mislead learners, and search engines treat that kind of labelling as keyword stuffing. Chinese pages use HSK 3.0 nine levels; other languages use this U2C index plus the official framework.

Frequently asked questions

Is U2C Level 7 an official level?

No. Official exams stop earlier in most systems, so levels 7–9 are U2C subdivisions used for filtering and course alignment. The official reference is shown next to each level.

Does U2C offer official certificates?

No. U2C provides practice and mock tests. Certificates are issued only by the official exam bodies, and registration always goes through their channels.
